Thanks to the temperature control:
- a better evaporation of the oxalic acid is obtained at the lowest possible temperature without running the risk that it will lose its effectiveness, dissociating at higher temperatures
- time is saved because it is not necessary to disconnect the battery and cool the vaporizer between one treatment and the next
Length of the treatment:
– 40 seconds to sublimate 1 gram of oxalic acid
– 1 minute and 30 seconds to sublimate 2 grams of oxalic acid

In some European countries (Italy, Spain, Hungary, France, United Kingdom, Austria, Slovenia, Portugal, Bulgaria, Croatia, Ireland, Norway, Romania) Api-Bioxal is the only oxalic acid authorized for sublimated use. Check if in your country oxalic acid-based veterinary drugs have been approved to be administered by sublimation against Varroa Destructor.
MOREOVER:
– The sublimator stops working before having completely discharged (and therefore before having ruined) the battery.
– The electrical circuit is isolated from the metal parts and therefore, unlike other sublimators, there is no risk of a short circuit if several sublimators powered by the same battery come into contact with each other.

The oxalic acid is placed in the cup which will be inserted into the flight opening. As the cup is heated, the oxalic acid evaporates. A fog thus forms in the hive that covers the bees and all surfaces with a thin layer of oxalic acid crystals. These small crystals are well tolerated by bees but have a lethal action on varroa.
The cup is connected to a solid handle from which the 3-meter cable with terminals for the electrical connection departs.
This sublimator complies with European Directives, and therefore bears the CE mark, and complies with the Rohs Directive on the restriction of the use of hazardous substances in electrical and electronic equipment.
