Varroa treatment has become one of the main treatments to be carried out during the year in our apiary.

Formicpro, a veterinary medicine, is a highly performing product against varroa because it is based on formic acid, in the form of gel strips.

The pack of 10 dose (each bag contains 2 strips) allows you to carry out the treatment on 10 hives.

The treatment involves placing 2 strips of Formic Pro in each hive for a week, taking care to treat all the hives at the same time.

HOW TO USE

Apply 1 dose of Formic Pro (two strips) per hive, taking care not to remove the paper wrapper from the strips.
It is possible to feed before treatment. During the treatment do not disturb the colony for all 7 days necessary for its completion.

The door of the hive will be left free across its entire width and left completely open for the duration of the treatment. The bottom must remain closed with the drawer.

WHEN USING IT

Formic Pro should be used in the absence of a sup, with temperatures between 10 ° C and 30 ° C.
It is possible to repeat the treatment after one month from the end of the previous one.

HOW DOES IT WORK

The active principle (formic acid) is released by evaporation from the strip and occurs gradually.
Formic acid is active against adult bee mites and is known to kill the juvenile states of mites within closed brood cells.

ADVANTAGES

Easy to apply, it does not require the use of evaporators
Flash treatment of 7 days repeatable, if necessary, after 30 days
Active ingredient acts on varroa in the brood

What is FORMIC ACID

Formic acid is a natural component of honey which, if properly formulated, not only kills adult Varroa mites, but also kills 95% of the mites that incubate in the sealed brood. Because it occurs naturally in honey, formic acid treatments can be applied during the honey flow and leave no residue.
