Beehive Tonelli, 10 frames painted light oak, brood only, frames with waxes sheets, lid with two sloping sides.
This original proposal is dedicated to those beekeepers / experimenters who love to rediscover the experiences of the brilliant observers of bees that preceded us. The inventor is Mr. Alessandro Tonelli who invented it in 1901 and presented it in 1911 at the exhibitions in Turin, Rome and Florence on the occasion of the "Fiftieth Anniversary of the proclamation of the Kingdom of Italy". It is normally called "heart-shaped hive" because the inventor wanted to recreate a dress for the combs that bees spontaneously make in nature when they are not forced by us to fill the squared frames. Since the frames are higher than the normal Dadant nest comb but heart-shaped, in essence the surface can be considered equivalent. The most obvious advantage is that it has a self-cleaning bottom because it is very inclined. It is made so that a Dadant super superposed superposed superposed superposter of 10 combs can be collected as easily as from normal beehives.
It is a beautiful garden ornament and a very original gift for any occasion.
