Instructions for Use:
- Fill the container with the chosen liquid (diluted alcohol or antifreeze) up to halfway
- Take a sample of bees and place it in the transparent container
- Separate varroa from bees by gently shaking for 60 seconds
- Count the fallen parasites on the transparent bottom of the container
Interpreting the Results:
- Less than 6 varroa out of 300 bees: Your hive is below the safety threshold.
- Between 6 and 15 varroa: It is advisable to intervene with a rapid treatment.
- More than 15 varroa: Immediate treatment is necessary to preserve your colony's health.
When to Perform Monitoring:
- Late Winter/Spring: Evaluate the need for a spring treatment.
